The Vampire Without Breakfast

When the vampire left the classroom, he realized that his mother had forgotten to put his breakfast in the lunchbox, so he would have to figure something out to avoid going hungry.

He looked around and saw boys and girls running everywhere. He thought he might be able to suck a little bit of blood from one of them, just enough to get through the morning.

He usually hunted at night, but he started strolling calmly through the playground. He saw the kids playing soccer. They were moving too much, and it was all too obvious.

There were also girls sitting in the bleachers talking. Too many people watching, it was definitely a bad idea.

Finally, heading towards the bathrooms, he saw three boys playing the most popular role-playing card game of the moment.

They were in the hallway leading to the multipurpose room, which was usually used for physical education classes.

It was a dark and lonely hallway.

The vampire sneaked up and positioned himself behind one of the boys. They were so engrossed in the game that they didn't even notice him.

He approached from behind, sank his fangs into one of the boys' necks, and sucked a little bit of blood—just enough—and then walked away as if nothing had happened, while wiping his lips.

Of the boys playing cards, no one seemed to notice anything.
